EFT - FAQ
Hypnosis - FAQ

I had a sever phobia of cats. My phobia was so severe I could not even look at a cat on the TV. I was very sceptical the EFT would work but it did. I had forgotten about my EFT session until a neighbours cat came into my garden. Normally I would have been frozen to the spot with fear but I was amazed to find that I felt no fear or anxiety at all. My curiosity got the better of me and I went out into the garden to test myself. Again I felt no fear or apprehension. It was then I realised the EFT did work. I would highly recommend EFT as an alternative therapy.

I have been a smoker for 15 years. I have tried the usual things like patches and good old withdrawel symptoms. I always failed in my attempts to give up smoking. I heard about EFT so decided to give that a try. To my amazement it worked. Giving up was actually quite easy. Definately recommended.

I have had a pain problem in my ankle for a number of years. I first sustained the injury while running for a bus. To control the pain I have been using painkillers. I then found out about EFT and sought help from Wayne. Within minutes the pain in my ankle had gone. I don’t know why or how EFT works and I don’t care. I am just happy to be able to stop taking painkillers all the time. I would seriously recommend EFT to everybody.

Hypnosis Frequently Asked Questions!

Please note I can only do hypnosis sessions if you live in Liverpool or surounding areas.

Hypnosis Myths!

Is hypnosis dangerous?

Providing you do not use hypnosis while driving, operating heavy machinery etc. then hypnosis is perfectly safe. To get the maximum benefits you should use hypnosis in a relaxed and safe environment where you will not be disturbed.

Always use a qualified hypnotherapist and you will get amazing results.

Back to FAQs

What does hypnosis feel like?

Hypnosis feels different with each individual. For a lot of people it simply feels like they were very relaxed with their eyes closed, some people say they felt weightlessness, while other people say they felt heavy. Hypnosis has no special feeling. You will hear every word the hypnotist says and remember everything.

Back to FAQs

I don't know if I can be hypnotized.

Anybody can be hypnotized. Hypnosis is a perfectly natural state. We naturally go into hypnosis many times a day. Also the more intelligent you are the easier you will find it to fall into a hypnotic state. to FAQs

Back to FAQs

I have been to a Hypnotherapist before and I did not go into a trance.

How do you know that?

People often feel they have not been in hypnosis when in actual fact they have. Hypnosis feels differently to different people. Just because it only felt like you lay there with your eyes closed feeling relaxed does not mean you did not go into hypnosis.

Back to FAQs

I have used hypnosis before and it did not fix my problem.

There could be a number of reasons:-

You may be right and you did not go into trance. It is up to the hypnotherapist to make sure he or she uses a hypnosis induction method that is suitable for you. Different inductions work for different people. Any decent hypnotherapist will make sure you are in a trance before they carry on with their work.

When making the necessary changes the hypnotherpist did not get agreement from the subconscious mind.

Back to FAQs

What can hypnosis help with?

Like EFT Hypnosis can help with all manner of issues such as weight loss, stop smoking, fears and phobias, trauma, pain relief, anger management, bulimia etc.

Back to FAQs

I don't like the feeling of not being in control.

All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. During hypnosis you are fully in control and you can come out of it at anytime you wish. The hypnotists does not hypnotize you, you hypnotize yourself! The hypnotist is there to guide you into hypnosis and then help you with your problems once you are in hypnosis. If for any reason you do not wish to be hypnotized it would be impossible for the hypnotist to hypnotize you.

Back to FAQs

But what about stage hypnotists they control the people on the stage don't they?

That is not true. The hypnotist is only a guide. You have to get the people on stage to cooperate. That does not mean the audience are faking it though. If the hypnotist tries to get a member of his audience to do something against his or her normal moral code, that member would immediately wake up. For instance, if the hypnotist asked an audience member to shoot somebody or have sex on stage, they would come out of the trance. It is impossible for the hypnotist to get you to do anything against your will.

Back to FAQs

I am still not sure!

If hypnotists could really control people they could just hypnotize millionaires and get them to give them all their money. If you could really control people with hypnosis then the likes of the KGB, MI5 and the CIA would be using it and they don't. In the early 50's the Americans did major experiments to see if they could use hypnotism to control people and get them to do their dirty work. They failed and gave up after about 4 – 5 years of trying. I am pretty sure other countries such as the UK would have tried hypnosis experiments as well.

What is the conscious mind?

The conscious mind is used for doing things like reading, mathematics, thinking, reaching conclusions, making decisions, controlling deliberate actions, remembering information such as telephone numbers, dates etc. Our conscious mind is able to think in a variety of ways such as laterally, literally, mathematically, critically, rationally, artistically etc.

Back to FAQs

What is the subconscious mind?

The subconscious is also known as the unconscious mind. The subconscious mind remembers every single thing you have seen, heard, touched, smelled, tasted or done since the day you were born.

The subconscious mind is there to protect us. It is the job of the subconscious to remember things like fire is hot and it hurts. Without our subconscious mind we would keep on making the same mistakes. The subconscious mind is also responsible for keeping us alive.

Our subconscious mind does our automated tasks (the things we do without consciously thinking about them) such as walking, breathing, keeping the heart beating, blinking, etc. The subconscious mind is continuously doing many tasks at once. If we had to think and remember to do all these things on a conscious level we would soon go crazy.

Unlike the conscious mind the subconscious mind can only think literally. It is because of this literal thinking that our problems arise. Often the reason why we have problems is because our subconscious mind thinks it is protecting us.

Our subconscious mind never sleeps. The subconscious mind wakes you from sleep in times of danger such as fire or if there is an intruder in the house. If you were asleep and your husband came quietly into the room you would probably stay asleep, but more often than not if an intruder did come into the room your subconscious would alert you and wake you up.

While we sleep our subconscious mind goes through everything we have done, seen and heard that day. It decides which bits of information are useful and which aren't. The useful bits of information are shared with the conscious mind. Any information the subconscious decides is useless or wants to protect us from, is kept hidden in the subconscious. All our suppressed painful memories are kept in the subconscious mind. If the subconscious is keeping information from your conscious mind, it is usually because it thinks it has a good reason for doing so. The reason will normally be a protective measure. This does not mean that the reasons for doing so are correct or useful for you.

It is also from the subconscious mind that we derive our intuition from. Have you ever met somebody for the first time and got the feeling you do not like him or her, but you do not know why? It is coming from your subconscious. Your subconscious picks up on things you conscious mind does not. Your subconscious mind recognises things like the person's body language.

Back to FAQs

How does hypnosis work?

Once you are hypnotized, the hypnotist can talk directly to your subconscious mind. In order for the hypnosis to work you must get agreement from the subconscious mind. If you make a suggestion for a change to the subconscious mind and it does not agree with the suggestion, the changes you want will not happen.

In any battle between the conscious and subconscious mind the subconscious always wins.

On a conscious level you may wish to stop smoking or loose weight. If however for some reason your subconscious mind does not want to stop smoking or loose weight then it is not going to happen. If you try to diet you will fail because your subconscious mind will sabotage the attempt and force you to fail.

On a conscious level you would have no idea this is happening or that this is the reason why you cannot stick to say a diet. Your subconscious mind may have what it thinks is a valid reason for keeping you fat. Again this does not mean your subconscious mind's reasoning is correct or valid.

By using EFT or hypnosis you can correct any wrong thinking made by the subconscious mind.

Should I inform my doctor?

That depends on what you are using hypnosis for. While Hypnosis is perfectly safe, you should inform your doctor or healthcare professional if you are using hypnotherapy to treat medical afflictions like depression, asthma, weight loss etc.

However if you are using hypnosis for sports performance or a simple spider phobia (arachnophobia) there is no real need to inform your doctor.

When you inform your doctor please give him/her this website address so he/she can gain a better understanding of hypnosis and EFT and its many faceted benefits.

Hypnosis Myths!

Hypnosis is dangerous.

Hypnosis has never been proved to be dangerous.

Back to FAQs

Hypnosis does not exist.

Hypnosis is real and it works. If it you say hypnosis does not exist then how can you say it is dangerous? It cannot be both dangerous and not exist.

Back to FAQs

Hypnotherapists have mystical powers.

Hypnotherapists are human beings just like you. The only difference is we have spent a lot of money, time and effort studying things like hypnotherapy, EFT and NLP.

Back to FAQs

You are unconscious during the hypnosis session.

Hypnosis is not sleep. You are simply in a heightened state of suggestibility and still aware of everything that is happening around you.

Back to FAQs

Only weak-minded people can be hypnotized.

The opposite is true. You cannot hypnotize somebody who does not want to be hypnotized.

Back to FAQs

I am too clever to be hypnotized.

Again the opposite is true. Intelligent people find it easier to go into hypnosis.

Back to FAQs

Hypnotists can make you do things against your will.

No they can't it is impossible.

Back to FAQs

When you are in a trance you have no self-control and the hypnotist can do anything they want to you.

That is a Hollywood myth. You are always fully aware of everything that is going on and you are always in full control.

Back to FAQs

I will tell all my secrets.

You would not tell the hypnotist anything you would not say in your normal waking state.

Back to FAQs

You can get stuck in hypnosis and not come out.

That is not true. Even if the hypnotherapist were to suddenly suffer a heart attack and die you would naturally come out of the hypnosis by yourself.

Back to FAQs

Hypnosis can cause mental illness such as schizophrenia.

There has never been a proven case of hypnosis causing illness of any kind and hypnosis has been used for thousands of years.
